Given the look and overall feel of quality, it is perhaps surprising that this is a self-assembly range of furniture.  However, if properly constructed, it should give years of trouble-free service. The drawers, for example, are constructed with dovetail joints.  Heavy duty plywood is used in place of wood panels for the drawer bases and backs and the advantage of this is that it is less susceptible to expansion or shrinkage in changing environmental conditions.
